Rohit Sharma and Indian his team are just 152 runs away from taking a 3-1 lead in the series against England. It was a dominating performance from the Indian bowlers as they bowled out England for 145.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the star with the ball as he picked his 35th test fifer for India. The veteran bowler was under pressure after not making an impact during the first innings of the game. Kuldeep Yadav did his best with the ball as he too got four wickets for the Indian team.

Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal were batting well as team India ended the day at 40 for no loss. Ben Stokes and his side will come out on the 4th day looking to put up a fight against a resilient Indian side.

Dhruv Jurel leads the charge with the bat –

Team India started the day at 219/7 still trailing England by 134 runs. James Anderson finally broke the 76-run stand between Dhruv Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav. The Indian spinner was out for 28 after having played 132 balls. This didn’t stop Dhruv Jurel who kept attacking the bowlers. The young wicketkeeper scored his first Test fifty before he was out for 90. India were all out for 307 to give England a lead of 46 runs. 

Shoaib Bashir picks his maiden fifer in Test cricket – 

Young Shoaib Bashir was the star bowler for England as he picked his maiden fifer in Test cricket. The spinner ended with 5/119 from his 44 overs as he helped England gain the upper hand on the 2nd day. 

England rocked early – 

Having a lead of 46 runs, the English team came out to impose their might on India. Ben Duckett began well scoring 15 runs off 15 balls. Ravichandran Ashwin had him caught at forward short-leg to end his stay. The very next ball Ollie Pope was trapped plumb LBW to record a pair. Joe Root who scored a century in the 1st dig was out for 11 out LBW to Ashwin. 

Zak Crawley fights back with a fifty-- 

England opener Zak Crawley didn’t have any trouble when facing up to the Indian bowlers. He went after the spinners and used his height to good effect to hit boundaries at will. The 26-year-old scored an amazing half-century as he saw his partners fall at the other end. 

Ashwin and Kuldeep run riot – 

It seemed like Zak Crawley and Jonny Bairstow were set to bat India out of the Test match. The 45-run 4th wicket stand was broken by Kuldeep Yadav when he got the ball to turn sharply and dismiss Crawley for 60. Ravindra Jadeja then dismissed Bairstow for 28 in the first ball after the Tea-interval. 

Ben Stokes and Ollie Robinson fell in a space of three balls to leave England reeling. Ben Foakes and Shoaib Bashir held on for 74 balls to add 12 runs but that stand was also broken. Ashwin got the wickets of Foakes for 17 before ending the innings with the dismissal of Anderson for a duck. 

Indian opener Start Strong – 

Needing 192 to win, Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma began well. The Indian skipper in particular looked in an aggressive mood as he went after the English bowlers. At the end of the day, India were 40/0 from 8 overs still needing 152 runs with two days left to play.
