Virat Kohli, always under the camera lens, was trending again for his on-field behavior in the recently lost rescheduled fifth Test match against England at Edgbaston. His on-field clash against England's in-form batter Jonny Bairstow was one of the most talked points of that match.

Many former cricketers and reporters, especially the English press, questioned Kohli's aggression on the pitch. But the former West Indies cricketer, Tony Best has defended the former Indian captain and said he is not a thug but a modern-day icon.

Best was replying to a renowned English reporter George Dobbell's tweet on team India celebrating Alex Lees' wicket. He posted a photo of the Indian team celebrating near the pitch and Kohli was spotted running in the middle of the pitch, which is not allowed. Dobbell wrote, " An interesting place to celebrate the wicket of Alex Lees," whose brilliant knock of 56 runs off just 65 ended with an unfortunate run-out.

But it was a pure celebration from Kohli who was running to greet his teammates. But English media's version implicates his action as pitch-tampering, which Best believes is crap talk.

"Bro y’all Reaching Now FFS, …… anyone who’s BOLD and brown or black y’all always got a Dammmm problem with anyone who challenges y’all its an issue, I’m tired of reading the English press talk crap about Virat or any player who isn’t English," Tony Best replies to George Dobbell's tweet.

Dobbell was quick to reply to Best's racial implications and said, “C’mon, Tino. You know me much better than that.” Best took a step back but asked Dobell to tell his English commentators that Virat is no thug but a modern-day cricket icon.

"For sure George you’re a real one but the others alway reaching from the English commentators etc etc , tell your mate that Virat isn’t a thug he’s a modern day Icon simple ……. But then again he isn’t English so we would get these types of Articles make them Grovel," Best replied.

The star Indian batter is struggling for form at the moment but his on-field aggression is still the same. Kohli has come under the limelight on many occasions for his over-aggressive nature, mostly when he was captain of team India.
