The 32-year-old star English pacer Mark Wood has finally made his comeback in international cricket after recovering from an elbow injury. Notably, Wood underwent elbow surgery back in the month of March. Just after his surgery, a video of the pacer went viral on social media in which he can be seen speaking about his speed under anesthetic. While speaking in the viral video, wood said at an instance that he’ll still bowl fast.

Everyone is now amazed and stunned as the Ashington-born lad has lived up to his promise and bowled 156 kmph on his return against Pakistan yesterday.

Recalling what happened in the hospital, then Wood was filmed when he was asking someone, “Is my shoulder meant to be sore?”

Just after the reply from another person in the room, Wood added, “That’s weird though!”

"I've had elbow surgery but my shoulders are aching."

"I'll still bowl fast", Wood added later.

On being asked about missing the Indian T20 League 2022, Wood came with an expression of sorrow and said “I’m so sad!”

Meanwhile, he also called Andy Flower a “nice guy”.

"I like Andy Flower, he is a nice guy", said Wood.

Here’s the video of what Wood said during anesthesia:

Speaking of the third T20I of the series between Pakistan and England, then the English team posted a massive total of 221 runs for the loss of three wickets in the allotted 20 overs. While chasing the target, the hosts could reach a total of only 158 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Eventually, England won the match by 63 runs to take a lead of 2-1 in the series.

Young batter Harry Brook was adjudged player of the match for his blistering knock of 81 runs off just 35 balls with eight boundaries and five sixes to his name.
