Indian T20 League has produced a lot of young and talented cricketers in Indian cricket. There are some players in the current national side of India who are excellent findings of the franchise league. Some of the testimonials of this are Varun Chakrabarty and Venkatesh Iyer.
They did well in the season of the Indian T20 League and later on, the selectors considered them for the national team. Recently, the selectors have announced the squad of India A for the upcoming bilateral series against New Zealand A commencing next month.
Two renowned names of the national side Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna are also a part of the squad. Notably, the prime name that was missing from the squad was Sheldon Jackson.
Jackson had played for the Kolkata team in the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League. He felt quite upset after being overlooked by the management considering his age in the framework.

The Saurashtra-based cricketer recently made it to the headlines with his reaction after being ignored by the squad. The batter told that the selectors didn’t pick him in the team because his age is 35 whereas there are some of the players who were picked despite being aged 32-33.
“I have a right to believe and dream that if I have performed for 3 continuous seasons, I may get picked on the basis of my performances, not age, tired of hearing this that I’m a good player and performer but I'm old, I'm 35, not 75,” reads the tweet posted by Sheldon Jackson.

After the reaction from Jackson, there were different opinions on social media from the fans. Some of the users went on to support him whereas the others talked about his poor performances in the Indian T20 League for not being picked in the squad of India-A.
