The three lions didn’t give a single chance to the Indians to have an upper hand in the match except for Hardik Pandya’s swashbuckling batting display in the death overs of the first innings. Most of cricket experts and fans are questioning the captaincy tactics of Rohit Sharma in using his bowlers at crucial times in the match. On the contrary, some of them happened to remember the former legendary Indian skipper MS Dhoni who won three trophies in a major international tournament during his captaincy.

Meanwhile, the former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir, who never misses any chance to discredit MS Dhoni from India’s World Cup winning campaigns in 2007 20-20 World Cup and ODI World Cup of 2011, has come up with a surprising stance following India’s debacle in the second semi-final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022.

In a shocking piece of news for Indian cricket fans, the former southpaw hailed MS Dhoni while comparing the other Indian captains to the formers. Subsequently, Gambhir reckoned that there is no captain who could be able to repeat the heroics of MS Dhoni for the Indian team.

I don't think any Indian captain would be able to achieve three international trophies - Gautam Gambhir on MS Dhoni

“Someone will come and probably score more double 100s than Rohit Sharma and more 100s than Virat Kohli, but I don't think any Indian captain would be able to achieve three ICC trophies,” said Gambhir while during a post-match conversation on Star Sports.

“He was the guy who successfully defended 157 and 129 runs in the 2007 World T20 and the 2013 Champions Trophy final. His presence might not have guaranteed a victory, but the team’s body language wouldn’t have been this demoralizing as it was under Rohit Sharma,” he added later.
