'Kuch To Alag tha usmein' - Fans remember MS Dhoni as India fails for another time in 20-20 World Cup

Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team has been eliminated from the 20-20 World Cup 2022 following a humiliating defeat against England. Following some early blows in the form of senior opener KL Rahul, skipper Rohit Sharma and star batter Suryakumar Yadav, the Indians were struggling at 78 runs for the loss of three wickets in 11.2 overs. Although a steady partnership of 61 runs for the fourth wicket between Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya helped India to reach a total of 168 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

But the English opening pair of Alex Hales and skipper Jos Buttler gave no chance to the Indian batters and ended the match in only 16 overs by chasing down the target of 169 runs without losing any wickets. Indian cricket fans went into angst over the poor performance of the Indian team, the sluggish captaincy intent from the skipper Rohit Sharma made the fans miss former legendary skipper MS Dhoni, who had won a couple of international tournaments for the Indian team during his captaincy.

They took to Twitter for remembering the legacy of MS Dhoni who won three major international tournaments for India within the time period of six years from 2007 to 2013.

Here’s how fans remembered MS Dhoni on India’s other failure since his departure from international cricket:

Speaking of the second semi-final of the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup between India and England, the English batters were given a target of 169 runs in 20 overs to chase. The blistering duo of Alex Hales and skipper Jos Buttler made no mistake and delivered a clinical performance to guide their team to the final of the 20-20 World Cup for the third time.

Now, the three lions will take on Babar Azam’s Pakistan in the title clash of the 20-20 World Cup. Notably, it is the second time since 1992 that England and Pakistan will be facing each other in the final of a 20-20 World Cup, and that too coincidentally at the same Melbourne Cricket Ground of Melbourne.
