Pat Cummins is a perfect example of a captain leading from the front. He had a tremendous season in 2023 both as a leader and as a player, and is continuing his red-hot form in 2024. The Aussie pacer bagged his third consecutive five-wicket haul in the Test series against Pakistan. Cummins was a nightmare for the Men in Green at the MCG and he is haunting them at the SCG in the third and final Test.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first in an aim to get a consolation win after getting thrashed in the first two matches. However, apart from Mohammad Rizwan's excellent counter-attack, the visitors crumbled against the Australian pace attack, especially against their skipper. Cummins once again spearheaded the bowling and was instrumental in providing them with breakthroughs.

Mitchell Stac and Josh Hazlewood dismissed the Pakistan openers early on. After a disastrous start, captain Shan Masood and Babar Azam tried to put together a decent partnership. But Cummins removed Babar in the 11th over as the former Pakistan skipper continued his poor form in red-ball cricket. The right-arm pacer soon claimed his second wicket in the form of Saud Shakeel and reduced Pakistan to 47/4.

With Rizwan leading the charge, the visitors seemed to be slowly coming out of danger. Australia were looking for a loophole, and Cummins found it in the 47th over when he dismissed the dangerous wicketkeeper batter. Rizwan was their lone warrior as he smashed a brilliant 88 of 103 deliveries when wickets kept falling at the other end. Sajid Khan and Hasan Ali were Cummins' last two wickets.

The 30-year-old fast bowler was adjudged Player of the Match in the second Test in Melbourne. He played a crucial role in the home team's 79-run win, grabbing fifers in the first and second innings.

Here's how fans reacted to Pat Cummins taking a fifer in the first innings of the third Test:
