Mitchell Marsh pulls Australia out of dire straits in second innings

Meanwhile, talking about the match, Australia managed to get back on track after a batting collapse in the second innings. Pakistan pacers were on fire with the new ball as they reduced the hosts to 16/4. It was Shaheen Afridi who did the early damage, taking the wickets of Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne in quick succession before lunch. Mir Hamza then decided to join the fun by dismissing Travis Head and David Warner off consecutive deliveries.

Australia were in serious trouble but Mitchell Marsh pulled them out of danger with a sensational knock. He shared a partnership of over 150 with Steve Smith before being dismissed for 96 off 130 balls. The Men in Green got rid of Smith (50 off 176 balls) on the last ball before stumps on Day 3. This will bring in a new batter to play alongside Alex Carey on Day 4, meaning Pakistan are still in the game despite trailing by 241 runs.
