Pakistan captain Babar Azam is one of the finest cricketers of the modern era, as the right-handed batter continues to dazzle in all formats of the game. For the same reason, the 28-year-old has gained fans all around the world and is often a source of delight for many. Recently, the Afghanistan wicketkeeper batter also expressed his admiration for Babar, underlining that the Pakistani cricketer is an inspiration to budding talents.

Gurbaz, who is currently playing for Jaffna Kings in the 2023 Lanka Premier League (LPL), revealed that he and his family is a huge fan of Babar. The 21-year-old also said that his younger brother, who plays cricket, had asked for a signed t-shirt of the Pakistan skipper. His comments came days after the Colombo Strikers batter smashed his record 10th T20 century against Galle Titans in LPL 2023.

"Yes my brother always talks about Babar Azam with me and he asked that please take one T-shirt from Babar for me and I said ok, so he loves Babar. My brother plays good cricket, so yeah his favourite player is Babar. Babar is the favorite player for the younger stars, especially for me," Gurbaz was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Further praising the Punjab-born cricketer, hard-hitting opener Gurbaz said he likes Babar's batting and said he is a legend. “I like his batting and the way he bats, I can see he’s a legend right now,” the right-handed batter added.

Former Pakistan cricketer and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja was recently mocked by fans for his weird comment on the Pakistan skipper. Admiring Babar's sensational 104 off 59 balls, which helped Strikers chase down a target of 189 runs, Raja said that he would like to marry the cricketer.

“Fifty in security, class, and quality, calmness. He is your guy in such a situation, in the back deep in the innings. I just absolutely love him – wanna marry him,” said Raja, who was part of the LPL commentary panel.
