Just like Virat Kohli, India skipper Rohit Sharma has taken a break from international cricket. However, the difference between the two is that the latter will return in the T20I series against the West Indies. On the other hand, Kohli won't feature in the entire tour of the Caribbean. It is reported that he will return to play for the team on the tour of Zimbabwe.

As both Sharma and Kohli are on a break, most of the Indian cricket fraternity has criticized the move of senior players taking frequent breaks. One of them is none other than Sunil Gavaskar, who out rightly rejected the idea of resting especially when they can play the whole season of the Indian T20 League.

“See I do not agree with this concept of players resting. Not at all. You don’t take rest during ITL, then why ask for it while playing for India? I don’t agree with it. You will have to play for India. Don’t talk about rest,” said Gavaskar.

The 1983 World Cup winner also felt that the players won't get tired playing a T20 game but rather a Test match. Of late, the team has played only one Test, and has been playing several limited-overs games and will continue to do so for a couple of months at least. This is the reason why Gavaskar has expressed his reservation on giving rest.

“There are only 20 overs in an innings in T20. That does not take any toll on your body. In Test matches, the mind and the body take a toll, I get that. But I don’t think there is much problem in T20 cricket,” Gavaskar said on Sports Tak.

Meanwhile, the fans are taking a mickey out of Rohit Sharma after he was spotted holidaying. One user almost echoed the former India opening batter's words in his tweet. Others were simply making fun and wondered why he has taken another break after already being on the break in June this year.
