The rumours of the rift between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya have now gone to a different level. The fans are accusing Sharma of deliberately not letting the all-rounder complete his five-wicket haul. In the third ODI against England on July 17, Pandya took four wickets and bowled seven overs. Notably, for some reason, Sharma didn't complete Hardik's full quota of overs.

Meanwhile, the Gujarat player praised his skipper and revealed the conversation between the two before the wicket of Liam Livingstone. The former Mumbai player in the Indian T20 League said he didn't care about going for boundaries at that point.

“He likes to take the short ball on and when someone does that, it gives me goosebumps thinking that sometimes you can win the battle and sometimes I can,” Pandya said. “I told the captain that it does not matter if I go for four sixes, if I take a wicket here, it will make a difference.

The five-time Indian T20 League winner added that his skipper knows when to bowl him and when not.

“The captain knows when I should bowl and when I should not. The body is fine, that is the reason I am able to bend my back and bowl so much.”

On the other hand, Rohit also praised the bowling effort from the right-arm medium pacer. The former said that the 28-year-old used the ground dimensions very well.

"Hardik as well, used the dimension well while bowling. One side was long and used the bouncers well," Rohit was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation ceremony.

During the game, Pandya took the important wickets of Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, skipper Jos Buttler, and Livingstone. Meanwhile, the fans are not buying into the duo's comments. They feel that Sharma robbed Hardik's chance of getting a fifer and the former is 'jealous'. They also feel that Pandya's fifer might have restricted England to a lower total
