The scuffle between India and Pakistan on October 23 turned out to be one of the games to remember in the history of the 20-20 World Cup. It was the final over drama that stood out amongst all moments from the game and Virat Kohli, the Indian giant, rose to the occasion once again after being out of the radar for almost 2 years.

While the spectators came to the edge of their seats towards the end course of the game, Gautam Gambhir, who was doing commentary for the game alongside Aakash Chopra and Sanjay Bangar, got brutally trolled as he looked sleepy while most of the commentators and fans were nervous.

Chopra, who rather opted to stand and commentate out of excitement, asked the former Indian opener for his opinion and Gambhir, in return, refused to pick up his mic and give his commentary. Bangar, the former team India batting coach, looked excited and nervous at the same time to get to know the outcome of the match.

Gambhir’s advice to Kohli backfires

However, most fans trolled him because of his advise to Kohli prior to the start of the tournament. Kohli scored an unbeaten 82 runs to take India home in the epic clash against the arch-rivals and helped the Men in Blue open their campaign in the showpiece event with a win. 

“Go with the mindset of scoring runs, what else can there be? The role of a batter is to make runs, the role of the bowler is take wickets. Make runs that help your team. Don't look at scoring 50s and 100s, score 30-40 runs at an impact which can help your team reach 170-180,” Gambhir advised Kohli before the start of the tournament. 

However, fans slammed the former Indian opener and said that he looked dull as his advise backfired. Many pointed out his words and tagged the Indian giant saying that the batter played only for the team and not for himself. 

With regard to the match, Pakistan batted first and put on a total of 159 runs on the board at the end of the first innings. While many Indian batters struggled, Kohli’s masterclass and Hardik Pandya’s composure helped the Indian team clinch an emphatic win as the team pulled a win off the final ball of the match. Ravichandran Ashwin, who faced the final ball, scored the winning runs for team India.
