Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir is once again on the receiving end of the anger of the Indian cricket fans following India’s win against Pakistan in the high-octane encounter of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Notably, Virat Kohli was the only reason for India’s brilliant run chase and he smashed unbeaten 82 runs off 53 balls to cross the line for the Indians.

Be it, cricketers, be it fans, everyone was completely in awe of Virat Kohli for that ‘knock for the ages.’ But still, the Gambhir was a guy who hesitated to mention the name of Virat Kohli in his congratulatory tweet for team India.

“No better way to begin the WC! A stunning performance,” read the tweet posted by Gautam Gambhir on his official Twitter handle just after India’s win against Pakistan.

Although, this tweet from Gambhir didn’t go down well with the Indian cricket fans who were in all praise of Virat Kohli, and they took no time in lashing out at the former southpaw for his attitude.

He took the charge from the moment when the team was in a delicate position and took the men in blue home with a handsome win. He smashed a match-winning knock of 82 runs off 53 balls with six boundaries and four sixes on his credit.

The 33-year-old also stitched a brilliant century partnership for the fifth wicket. Hardik Pandya scored 40 runs off 37 balls with one boundary and two sixes to his name.
