In the same sequence, he took the extra mile and went on to say that Indians will also come back to the subcontinent after losing in the semi-finals.

"Maine pehle bhi ye bola tha, ki Pakistan iss hafte Pakistan waapis aajaegi, aur agle hafte India waapis aajaegi. Vo bhi semifinal khel ke vaapis aa jaaegi. Vo bhi koi itne tees maar khan nahin hai. (I had predicted this long back that Pakistan will return this week, and India will return next week after playing the semifinal. Even they don't have great players.),” said Akhtar in a recent video on his YouTube Channel.

These comments from the 47-year-old didn’t go down well with the Indian cricket fans and they took no time in lashing out at the former. Fans took to Twitter for showing a mirror image to World’s faster pacer ever.

Speaking about the scenarios for Pakistan to qualify for the final, so now, Pakistan will have to hope for India’s win in all the remaining games against South Africa, Bangladesh, and Zimbabwe. Apart from the men in green will also have to pray that the Proteas lost two out of their remaining three games against India, Pakistan, and the Netherlands. And the similar is required in the case of Zimbabwe for whom Pakistan is supposed to hope the former lose two out of the remaining three matches against India, Netherlands, and Bangladesh.

Notably, skipper Babar Azam also went on to accept the collective failure of the team for two consecutive defeats in the super-12 round of the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
