Many cricket experts were counting on Pakistan and considering them as one of the contenders to win the title in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. But the men in green failed to deliver on the expectations of those experts and lost two consecutive matches in the super-12 round against India and Zimbabwe.

Currently, Babar’s men are on a brink of an early exit from the tournament however, they might have some chances mathematically but practically it is visible that they have been knocked out. Lashing out at his nation’s team, the former Pakistani speedster went a bit harsher in a recent video on his YouTube channel. Subsequently, he took completely a different direction and went on to criticize and curse the Indian team by saying that their campaign will also end in the semis.

India will come back next week after playing in the semi-final - Shoaib Akhtar

“Pakistan has a bad captain. Pakistan is out of the world cup in the second game. Against Zimbabwe,” started Akhtar.

“I had already said Pakistan will come back this week. And India will come back next week after playing in the semi-final. Woh Bhi koi tees-maar khan Nahi hai (India is also not some unbeatable side) and we … I am so angry I don’t want to say some bad things,” he added later.

Akhtar's comments were looking like a frustration more than an analysis while he was cursing the Indian team. It can be said that his words were not relevant to the performance of both the teams in the tournament as Pakistan lost both of their two matches in the beginning whereas the men in blue have won two consecutive matches to be on the top of the points table of Group 2.

Now, Pakistan will have to hope India’s win in all the remaining games against South Africa, Bangladesh, and Zimbabwe. Apart from the men in green will also have to pray that the Proteas lost two out of their remaining three games against India, Pakistan, and the Netherlands. And the similar is required in the case of Zimbabwe for whom Pakistan is supposed to hope the former lose two out of the remaining three matches against India, Netherlands, and Bangladesh.
