While the 14th game of the Indian T20 league 2022 between Kolkata and Mumbai was expected to be a close contest, Pat Cummins finished things off rather early. He went on to equal the record for the fastest fifty in the history of the league. The Australian superstar has well and truly arrived in the 2022 edition.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Kolkata were superb with the new ball. Once again, their pacers were fabulous in the powerplay overs. Mumbai's top order struggled to get the big shots.
Rohit Sharma's poor form continued as he struggled to get going once again. The Mumbai skipper scored three from 12 balls. Ishan Kishan was dismissed rather cheaply as well. All eyes were on the debutant Dewald Brevis. The U19 star scored a quickfire 29 before getting stumped.
After which, Suryakumar Yadav resumed his normal services as he once again played the rescue act. In his first game of this edition, the audacious batter scored a brilliant 52 off just 36 deliveries. He was well supported by the youngster Tilak Varma, who scored an unbeaten 38.
Kieron Pollard got back to the groove as his cameo ensured that the five-time champions get to a respectable total. In just five deliveries, he hit three sixes. Taking Mumbai's superb bowling attack into account, the chase was never going to be easy for Kolkata. Their opener did find it hard as they struggled to get going.
As a matter of fact, Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed after scoring 7 off 11 balls. Shreyas Iyer and Sam Billings tried to dictate terms, but to no avail. Both the batters perished before the 10th over. Venkatesh played the role of an anchor and tried to steady the ship.
However, Cummins completely changed the complexion of the game. His 14-ball half-century enabled Kolkata to chase the total with four overs to spare. Mumbai have now lost their first three games of this season.

Rohit Sharma isn't looking same anymore, it's high time Mumbai Indians should think about future and give chance to youngsters in place of him. Our strong Mumbai team earlier used to carry Rohit but now his batting getting exposed. He should be sacked from Indian team also.
