On 10 May 2023, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) locked horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing IPL. However, CSK managed to win the game convincingly while MS Dhoni and his men registered their seventh win of the season. Now, after the game, a picture went viral where Dhoni was seen getting clicked with Irfan Pathan in the CSK dressing room.

The former CSK player also shared the images on his Twitter and wrote: “Jaha se chorte hai wahi se fir se shuru hoti hai Hamari dosti. Never been a time where we met and didn’t remember our good old days. Some funny memories comes back to the life every time we meet. @msdhoni @ChennaiIPL #leader #friend.” But, fans noticed an ice pack on the CSK skipper’s left knee and seeing that, shared their views on social media.

During this ongoing IPL, he injured his left knee in the fourth game against Rajasthan Royals (RR). After that clash, he was seen limping and struggling to walk properly. So, there were doubts about his further participation in the tournament. But, as of now, Dhoni has not missed a single game so far and he has been seen playing despite having some struggles on the field. Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan played for CSK in IPL 2015 and for Rising Pune Super Giants (RPSG) in IPL 2016 along with Dhoni. So, it was a cherishable moment for them after the victory over DC at Chepauk. 

After the victory over DC, Dhoni said: “It turned a lot in the second half. Our spinners use the seam more than other bowlers. I wanted the bowlers to bowl their best deliveries but not go looking for wickets. We can still do better as a batting unit. There were a few shots you are better off avoiding on this pitch. There were a couple where the execution was not right; we can live with that. Good thing is, Moeen and Jaddu got to bat. As we get closer to the last phase, everyone has a few deliveries under their belt. My job is to hit a few deliveries. Don't make me run a lot. Happy to contribute whatever deliveries I am getting. That is how I am practising as well.”
