India has lost their top three early while chasing the target of 216 runs in the ongoing second of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. India lost their both openers only on a total score of 41 runs in the sixth over of the second innings. Notably, the hosts’ skipper Rohit Sharma, who played a brilliant knock of 83 runs in the last match, went back to the pavilion only on 17 runs in the second ODI against the Islanders.

The 35-year-old got caught behind by wicketkeeper-batter off Chamika Karunaratne on the last ball of the fifth over in the Indian inning. The fans didn’t seem happy with this outing from the skipper Rohit Sharma in the crucial match of the series against the visitors.

They took to Twitter to lash out at Sharma for departing early in the run-chase of an average total of 216 runs in the 50 overs.

Talking about the current action of the match, the Indian team has scored 86 runs for the loss of three wickets in 14 overs. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are there in the middle on the individual scores of 9 and 28 runs respectively. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill contributed with scores of 17 and 21 runs respectively.

Last match’s centurion Virat Kohli could score only 4 runs before falling prey to Lahiru Kumara in the 10th over of the inning. At the time of filling this copy, India has lost one more wicket in the form of Shreyas Iyer and now they are on 86 runs for the loss of 14.2 overs.

Earlier, the Indian bowling attack bundled up the visitors on the score of 215 runs courtesy to the three wickets each scalped by Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj. Apart from Siraj and Kuldeep, Axar Patel and Umran Malik also scalped one and two wickets respectively.
