Dinesh Karthik is currently busy playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the ongoing IPL. But, he had a forgettable night on 10 April 2023 when RCB locked horns with LSG at the Chinnaswamy stadium. LSG won the match by one wicket by clinching the win on the last delivery.

Dinesh Karthik had a chance to run out the batter. But, he missed the chance and hence, fans slammed him brutally. Now, an image of an advertisement has gone viral where Karthik was seen talking about safe wicketkeeping skills. Seeing that, fans went crazy and trolled him more on social media.

Speaking of that last ball of that match, LSG needed one run with one wicket in hand. Harshal Patel was bowling and Avesh Khan was at the striking end while Ravi Bishnoi was at the non-striker end. Avesh missed the ball but set off for the run. Dinesh Karthik had the time to grab the ball and then, go for a run-out. But, he completely fumbled and Bisnoi was already  halfway down after throwing his bat. So, fans were not happy to see Karthik failing to grab the ball cleanly.

Dinesh Karthik has failed so far in the ongoing IPL in whatever opportunities he has got. The RCB wicketkeeper has scored 10 runs so far in three matches. After the loss against LSG, Faf du Plessis said: "Disappointed. I mean obviously they played really well through the middle there but I thought we fought back beautifully. But then that last ball, I fancied our chances with a run-out. I think just looking at that wicket, the batting from overs 7 to 14 was quite slow, the wicket, but then in the last five overs the ball was coming on nicely and that carried on in the second innings. I threw all our weapons we had at them.”
