David Warner is currently busy playing for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing IPL. This season, he has been leading the franchise as Rishabh Pant is unavailable. On 11 April 2023, DC locked horns with MI at the Arun Jaitley stadium. Before this match, he scored 158 runs in three matches.
But, his strike rate has been an issue in all those matches. Fans were not happy as they criticised him brutally on social media. Against MI, he scored another fifty and got out after scoring 51 runs off 47 balls. Now, the former team India pacer, Irfan Pathan also shared a tweet to take a dig at Warner.
Here is the shared tweet:
How come no one pointing out strike rate of David Warner?? He is been playing with low strike for quite sometime now…

David Warner has now scored 209 runs in four matches in IPL 2023
Speaking of the tweet, Irfan Pathan wrote: “How come no one pointing out strike rate of David Warner?? He is been playing with low strike for quite sometime now…” The strike rate has always been a top parameter for any batter in the shortest format of the game. So, top batters like Virat Kohli had been criticised heavily in recent times for playing some slow innings. So, Pathan was surprised to see no one pointing out the same issue when it is happening to Warner on a regular basis.
After being named the captain for DC, David Warner said: "Axar will have great knowledge about all the players in the squad. He'll be in control of relaying information to the bowlers and also help me deal with the language barrier. You get to understand the wicket at your home ground and you've also got your fans, who give you a boost. "The fans' chants in the stadium will give us great strength and belief to play at our best". After the MI clash, Warner has now scored 209 runs in four matches. Speaking of the match, DC batted first and scored 172 runs in 19.4 overs. Apart from Warner, Axar Patel scored 54 runs off 25 balls.
