Five new players who can be picked in India’s T20I squad for South Africa series

With India scheduled to host a five-match T20I series against South Africa in June, a few youngsters could be given an opportunity. Besides, many senior players are expected to be rested for this series. Today, we shall be taking a look at five new players who can be picked in India’s T20I squad for the South Africa series:

1) Umran Malik:

Umran Malik is arguably one of the most exciting youngsters going around. His ability to generate the extra pace has impressed almost all the experts and pundits. Besides, he has already clocked 157 kmph in the ongoing Indian T20 League 2022.

Moreover, Malik has made it a habit to consistently bowl 150 kmph deliveries. The ongoing 15th edition of the cash-rich league has seen him be amongst the wickets as well. The Jammu and Kashmir pacer has picked 18 wickets in 12 games at an average of 22.06 in the 2022 edition.

2) Mohsin Khan:

Mohsin Khan has been the surprise package in this edition of the cash-rich league. In just his debut season, he has shown immense temperament. In just seven games, he has already picked 10 wickets.

His bowling average and strike rate are 15.2 and 15.0 as of now. Despite bowling the difficult overs, his economy rate in this edition has been just 6.08.

3) Rahul Tripathi:

Rahul Tripathi has been one of the unluckiest players in the recent past. Despite being brilliant, he is yet to make his international debut. The aggressive batter has a knack for playing the big shots.

Moreover, he is flexible enough to bat at any given position. Not only can he hit the spinners, but he can whack the pacers as well.

4) Tilak Varma:

Tilak Varma has arguably been the most impressive youngster of the Indian T20 League 2022. His mental fortitude at such a tender age is commendable, to say the least. He has been the diamond in the rough for Mumbai in this edition.

Varma has scored 368 runs in 12 games at an average of 40.89. Besides, the Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma had even stated that the youngster could go on to become an all-format player for India. Thus, it will be surprising If Varma isn't selected for the series against South Africa.

5) Arshdeep Singh:

Arshdeep Singh has been one of the most consistent bowlers in this edition of the Indian T20 League. Besides, he has been doing well for the past few years. His ability to bowl well under pressure has won the Punjab-based franchise several games.

When it comes to the 2022 edition, he has picked 10 wickets in 13 matches. However, it is his overall impact which has impressed everyone. Despite bowling most of the difficult overs, his economy rate has been 7.83, which is more than decent. Besides, he can consistently bowl the yorkers during the death overs as well.
