Young Indian cricketer, Riyan Parag notched his second half-century on Tuesday against Bangalore. For the unversed, it was the second half-century of his Indian T20 League career. Parag came into bat when the team was in deep trouble.
Rajasthan had lost four wickets for just 68 runs. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals thereafter, however, Riyan Parag stayed there and took the team to a reasonable score of 144 runs in the first inning. The Rajasthan batter went on to score an unbeaten knock of 56 runs in 31 balls. His knock proved vital as Rajasthan won the game by 29 runs.
Following his knock, a user trolled Doull as the latter earlier questioned Parag's position in the side. 'Hope you are watching the game @Sdoull’ he tweeted.
New Zealand commentator, Simon Doull also replied to the fan while hailing Parag for exhibiting a brilliant performance under pressure.
‘Yes he played really well today. Summed up the situation and was fantastic at the death’, he tweeted.

A lot of fans liked the Tweet and also retweeted it on several occasions. Simon’s tweet received a lot of attention because, earlier, he questioned Riyan Parag's position in the team. He said that in video uploaded on Cricbuzz.
His comments were criticized by the fans on Twitter and bashed him for saying Riyan Parag ‘a social media star. Doull, though, clarified his statement and also apologized to the user.

But then he concludes by saying that I know Riyan is a social media star but that doesn't count in a match.
Why would any commentator say that on national TV?
Meanwhile, Rajasthan are exhibiting formidable cricket in the ongoing edition of the Indian T20 League. The Royals are sitting at the top of the points table with 6 wins in 8 matches. Despite scoring a below-par score of 144 runs in the last game, Rajasthan managed to bundle out Bangalore for just 115 runs, thereby winning the game by 29 runs.
It was a collective bowling effort from Rajasthan. Kuldeep Sen starred with the ball, picking 4 wickets for 20 runs in 3.3 overs. Ravichandran Ashwin, on the other hand, claimed 3 for 17 in 4 overs. Rajasthan are slated to play the next game against Mumbai on Saturday at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy.
