Shane Warne’s family was seen getting emotional, bidding the legend a final goodbye. His coffin was draped in St Kilda Saints scarf. Jackson, Warne’s son kissed and embraced the coffin in an emotional farewell to his father. His youngest daughter, Summer was seen in tears as the event was coming to a close. His oldest daughter, Brookes kept her shades on for most of the procession.

The guests who attended the ceremony were wearing Saints’ scarves, Warne’s favourite AFL team, as a tribute to the legend. Eddie McGuire, a close family friend, and television personality acted as the Master of Ceremony for the event. He asked the guests to raise their glasses ‘high to the sky', as he said ‘To Warnie’. The ceremony was also attended by Dannii Minogue, Michael Clarke and Merv Hughes.

Jackson stepped up for his family in his father’s absence as he led his sisters to a waiting chauffeur and liaised with the security of the venue. Jackson was clutching a golf club, a reminder of how keen a golfer his father was.

The event was also graced by the presence of AFL legend Sam Newman. “I am going and I’m humbled to be invited. Like all funerals, I think it’s going to be a somber affair and emotional”- Newman said before attending the event.

Friends and Colleagues of Warne from the cricketing fraternity like Michael Vaughan, Glenn McGrath, Darren Berry and Glenn Maxwell also attended the ceremony. Warne’s ex-fiancé actress Elizabeth Hurley was expected to be present but she was unable to make it in the end.

A second funeral will be held, celebrating the colorful life of the legend on 30th March at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. After the private affair yesterday, the event at the MCG will be open for a crowd of up to 100,00 fans. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed that he will attend the event and pay his tributes to the Australian Legend.
