When the news broke out, the cricketing world could not believe what happened. It took some time for them to gulp down the news. Meanwhile, Warne's funeral will take place on March 30 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Earlier this month, his body was brought to Melbourne after an autopsy in Thailand.

Due to the legend's funeral, the second edition of the men's Hundred draft and the announcement of women's signings has been postponed. The organizers of the tournament didn't want to clash it with Warne's funeral and thus, decided to postpone both the events.

Warne was associated with the Hundred in the inaugural edition. He was the head coach of London Spirits during the first season. As for the men's draft picks and women's signings, they were supposed to reveal it on March 30. However, the event has been pushed to April 5 now. The Hundred recently released a statement to confirm the development.

''This (April 5) is a week later than previously advertised due to Shane Warne's state funeral taking place on Wednesday 30 March. Shane was a much-loved part of The Hundred, and played an important role in launching the competition as Head Coach of London Spirit's men's team. He will be hugely missed by everyone involved in the competition," read a statement from The Hundred.

As far as Warne's career as a player is concerned, it would be safe to call him one of the greatest bowlers of all time. The leggie picked 708 Test wickets and 293 ODI wickets. This includes 38 fifers as well. It wouldn't be an overstatement to say that he created an unmatched legacy and will go down as one of the greatest contributors to the sport.
