‘Ek hi Dil hai kitni baar jeetogay Babar’ – Fans in awe of Pakistan skipper as he spotted cleaning the stadium after PSL match

The 28-year-old Pakistan batting superstar started his Peshawar Zalmi journey with a brilliant half-century.

Babar Azam

Pakistan national team’s skipper Babar Azam recently played his first match for the new franchise Peshawar Zalmi in the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League. The 28-year-old guided his team to a two-run victory against Karachi Kings in their tournament opener at the National Stadium in Karachi. Babar led his team from the front by playing a brilliant half-century knock in the first innings.

Apart from his performance with the bat and amazing captaincy, he also made it to the headlines for his gesture off the field in the aftermath of the match against the hosts.

The Lahore batting sensation was seen cleaning the ground with his teammates; alongside the Karachi players as well. A section of cricket fans was also awestruck with this down-to-earth gesture from the Peshawar skipper and the leader of the national cricket team of Pakistan. They took to Twitter to lavish the praise on Babar and also appreciated his effort despite being a national cricketing hero of Pakistan.

Here’s how fans praised Babar Azam:

Talking about cricket, Peshawar Zalmi was asked to bat first as they lost the toss; they posted a decent total of 199 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Middle-order batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore played a blistering knock of 92 runs off just 50 balls with seven boundaries and six sixes to his name; skipper Babar accompanied Cadmore with an individual knock of 68 runs off just 46 balls with seven boundaries and a six on his credit.

While chasing the target of 200 runs, the skipper Imad Wasim played a fighting knock of 80 runs off just 47 balls with seven boundaries and four sixes. Apart from Imad, the T20 great Shoaib Malik also contributed with a quick knock of 52 runs off 34 balls with four boundaries and two sixes.

But unfortunately, the hosts couldn’t cross the finishing line and lost the match by a very close margin of 2 runs.
