'Ek dum dominating performance'- Fans react as Guyana Amazon Warriors beat Jamaica Tallawahs by 7 wickets in CPL 2023

Guyana Amazon Warriors are through to the playoffs on CPL 2023 along with Trinbago Knight Riders in their home leg.

The 25th match of the Caribbean Premier League CPL took place at Providence Stadium Guyana between Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) and Jamaica Tallawahs (JT). GAW won the toss and chose to bowl. JT could not get off to a good start as they lost Alex Hales after he made 9 off 10 balls with two fours to Romario Shepherd.


The New  West Indian sensation Krik Mckenzie made 13 off 13 balls with one six. He was caught by Keemo Paul off Imran Tahir. Imad Wasim played a slow innings of 18 off 26 balls with one four he was castled by  Dwaine Pretorius. While wickets were falling at one end. Brandon King cracked a stroke-filled 52 off 32 balls with 10 fours and one six. The right-hander was cleaned by Gudakesh Montie when he tried to up the ante.

Saim Ayub slammed a quickfire 85 off 53 balls for Guyana Amazon Warriors

There was some finish of sorts at the end for JT as Raymon Reifer hit an unbeaten 20 off 14 balls with three fours. Fabian Allen made an unbeaten 21 off 14 balls with two fours. JT could get to only 152-5 in their 20 overs. In the run chase, GAW made the target look like a cakewalk as  Saim Ayub smashed 85 off just 53 balls that knocked the wind off JT's sails.


Ayub received great support from Matthew Nadu who hit 37 off 35 balls with four fours. The job was finished off at the end by Shai Hope who hit an unbeaten 16 off 17 balls with one four. GAW trumped JT by 7 wickets. Odean Smith hit four of one ball to finish the game for the side. GAW have had a great start to the home leg and also the last part of CPL 2023.

Ayub has been in great form in CPL 2023, the Pakistani has slammed three fifties in three innings and has been in red-hot form in the tournament. On another note, GAW and Trinbgo Knight Riders (TKR) have qualified for the playoffs in CPL 2023.  The games have been good and the West Indies crowd have enjoyed the league.
