On 13 August 2023, the stage was set for a cracking series decider between India and West Indies at Lauderhill in the ongoing five-match T20I series. After losing the first two matches, the Men in Blue made a remarkable comeback in the last two matches. So, both teams were looking to win the series with another win.

Speaking of the match, Team India skipper, Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bat first. All eyes were on both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill as both of them played two solid knocks in the fourth T20I. But, they failed miserably as India were two wickets down for just 17 runs in 2.5 overs.

After that, Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav put up a 49-run partnership for the third wicket before Varma got out on 27 runs off 18 balls. Sanju Samson wasted another chance as he scored only 13 runs off nine balls. Only, the number one-raked batter in the shortest format of the game, Suryakumar was the lone warrior as he smashed 61 runs off 45 balls, including four fours and three sixes. Finally, they scored 165 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. For the last 35 runs, they lost five wickets and that gave the Windies some momentum before the chase. Romario Shepherd was the star of the show as he picked up four wickets for 31 runs in four overs.

In reply, Kyle Mayers got out cheaply but Nicholas Pooran and Brandon King managed to give a blistering start to their team as they scored 61 runs for one wicket in the first six overs. After 10 overs, they scored 96 runs for just one wicket. Finally, after putting up a 107-run partnership for the second wicket, Pooran got out on 47 runs and surprisingly, he got out against Tilak Varma. It was his maiden International wicket. But, ultimately the Windies chased down the target in 18 overs and won the game by eight wickets. They also bagged the series 3-2. Brandon King remained not out on 85 runs off 55 balls, including five fours and six sixes.
