On May 27, Bangalore locked horns with Rajasthan with a dream to qualify for the Indian T20 League 2022 final. However, the Pink Brigade had other ideas. After all, they haven't played in the finals since their victorious campaign in 2008. Apart from that, they had qualified for the playoffs in 2013, 2015, and 2018 but never made it to the finals. On the other hand, the Red Army hasn't won a title since the inception of the league in 2008.

Talking about the game, the three-time finalists were doing ok when they were 111/2 at one stage. However, the wicket of Glenn Maxwell in the 14th over meant that the team lost six wickets in the last as many overs and finished at a paltry total of 157/8. Even Dinesh Karthik, who has saved the team from the drowning waters couldn't rise up to the occasion.

The team lost the game by seven wickets after Jos Buttler scored an unbeaten hundred. After the loss, the team organized a final huddle of the season. The parts of the meeting was uploaded by the Bangalore franchise on their official YouTube channel. In that video, Dinesh Karthik thanked the fans for the support they should in the season.

"Thank you so much to all the fans, you guys means a lot to me. I'm really grateful to found this RCB franchise and found this fan base, this fan base literally open arm and accepted me. I'm so happy to be part of this franchise." - Dinesh Karthik said in a video uploaded by the franchise on YouTube.

The right-hander has apologized the fans for letting them down after the team was crashed out of the title race.

"I'm genuinely happy and blessed what we achieved as a team and personally. But most importantly the fans come and showed love for me in everywhere Instagram, twitter, facebook & talk about me. That's where I feel I let you down little bit this year." - Karthik added.
