Mohammad Amir has been in great form for Karachi Kings in the ongoing Pakistan Super League. As of now, he has taken eight wickets in five matches. But, his latest performance made headlines as he took four wickets for 26 runs against Peshawar Zalmi. In that match, he also took the wicket of Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.


It was a huge wicket for Amir as he came up with a brutal comparison of Babar with tailenders ahead of the start of this tournament. But, now an image has gone viral where the Pakistan pacer was seen celebrating that personal milestone by cutting a cake. But, fans slammed him as Karachi Kings lost the match by 24 runs.

Before the first match against Peshawar Zalmi on 14 February 2023, Amir said that bowling to Babar is as same as bowling to a tailender for him. In a PSL special program by ARYnews, Mohammad Amir said: “I don’t have any such match-ups against anyone. For me, bowling to Babar and a tailender is the same. My job is to take wickets and win matches for my team, so for me, facing Babar or a tailender batting at number 10 will be the same.” In that match, Amir did not take any wickets.

Meanwhile, Babar scored 68 runs off 46 balls, including seven fours and one six. But on 1 March 2023, Mohammad Amir grabbed four wickets for 26 runs in four overs against the Babar-led side. In the first over only, Amir took the wickets of Mohammad Haris and Babar with two vicious inswingers. But, unfortunately, Karachi Kings lost the match by 24 runs while chasing 198 runs. So, fans were shocked to see Amir celebrating his personal milestones despite his team’s loss against Babar Azam and his men.
