Mohammad Amir has been in the headlines since the start of this ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). He is representing Karachi Kings. Before the first match on 14 February 2023, he came up with some disrespectful comments about Babar Azam. Karachi’s first match was against Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi.
In a PSL special program by ARYnews, the journalist asked the pacer about his plans against Babar. Amir said that bowling to Babar is as same as bowling to a tailender for him as his main aim is to take wickets for his team. He also said that he does not have any such match-ups against anyone like Babar Azam.

Amir said: “I don’t have any such match-ups against anyone. For me, bowling to Babar and a tailender is the same. My job is to take wickets and win matches for my team, so for me, facing Babar or a tailender batting at number 10 will be the same.” But, he failed to come up with a solid performance as Mohammad Amir failed to take any wickets in that match. In four overs, Amir conceded 42 runs. Babar Azam scored 68 runs off 46 balls, including seven fours and one six.
So, all eyes were on Amir again when Karachi Kings took on Peshawar Zalmi in the tournaments on 1 March 2023. However, Mohammad Amir did not disappoint this time around as he took the wicket of the Pakistan skipper. In the first over only, Amir took the wickets of Mohammad Haris and Babar with two vicious inswingers. He finished the match with a spell of four wickets for 26 runs in four overs. But, Peshawar managed to win the match by 24 runs. As of now, Amir has taken eight wickets in five matches. After seeing such a fiery spell from Amir against Babar Azam, fans went crazy and shared their views on the social media platform.
