MS Dhoni has been one of the main players in the history of the Chennai franchise in the Indian T20 League. Since the inception of the tournament, Dhoni has played for this franchise. However, the franchise missed two editions of the tournament in 2016 and 2017 respectively. They got banned from the tournament due to match-fixing and betting activities.

In those years, Dhoni played for the Pune franchise. But, now, he will be seen in action again for Chennai in the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League. Currently, MS Dhoni is busy preparing for the tournament as many videos have gone viral where he was seen having intense practice sessions.

Speaking of the video, MS Dhoni was seen enjoying himself with other Chennai teammates like Deepak Chahar, Shivam Dube, and Ruturaj Gaikwad. Even, the former team India skipper was seen playing guitar. Seeing that, fans found the funny side and came up with some funny tweets on the social media platform. Under the captaincy of Dhoni, this franchise have managed to win four titles so far. According to reports, this upcoming edition might be the last time when Dhoni will be seen in the yellow jersey.

Regarding such reports, while speaking to InsideSport, a Chennai official said that Dhoni has not informed them about it anything. But, they will love to have a clarity before the start of the Indian T20 League 2023. The official said: “We believe it will be his last as he wants to say goodbye at his favourite stadium. In any case, we should have clarity by the start of the Indian T20 League. MS hasn’t informed us about his decision. And of course, there is no pressure on him to take a call anytime soon. He is our leader and he will only do what’s best for the team. As far as the management is concerned, MS has full backing on whether he wants to continue beyond this season.”
