On a batting paradise at Holkar Cricket Stadium, South Africa have made great use of the short boundaries as they have managed to notch a gigantic score of 227 runs in the first innings.

Skipper Temba Bavuma continued his poor form as he got out for 3 runs in 8 ball. R Rossouw and Quinton de Kock then put on a batting masterclass as the duo added 90 runs for the second wicket to lay a strong foundation for a big total.

Quinton de Kock, who struggled to time the ball in the last match, played shots all around the ground. He amassed 68 runs in 43 balls, including 6 fours and 4 sixes. R Rossouw, who couldn’t even open his account in the first two innings, went on to notch a sensational ton.

His maiden ton in T20 international came in just 48 balls. The southpaw hit 7 fours and 8 sixes en-route to a match-defining knock. Thanks to those two innings, South Africa put on a par score on a batting paradise in Indore.

Meanwhile, an interesting incident involving Deepak Chahar and Tristan Stubbs came to prominence during the first innings. Deepak Chahar, who came back into the attack, was all set to bowl the 15th over of the innings.

Chahar stopped before delivering the first ball of the over and looked to pull-off a mankad run-out. Stubbs wasn’t watching the bowler and was backing up way too early. Upon noticing that, Chahar took a pause and gave a gentle warning about a possible run-out at the non-striker’s end.

Stubbs would have walked back to the pavilion had Chahar knocked over the stumps. Here’s a look at the video of the incident:

In pursuit of the target, India have lost 3 wickets for 51 runs in 5.1 overs. Dinesh Karthik is unbeaten on 20 off 12, while Suryakumar Yadav has just arrived at the crease.
