Dale Steyn reveals reason behind his jubilant celebration

The Jammu and Kashmir pacer has once again been bowling with a lot of pace in the ongoing 2022 edition. The recent fixture between Hyderabad and Kolkata saw Malik produce an absolute jaffa. He bowled a yorker to dismiss Shreyas Iyer. After which, Hyderabad's bowing coach Dale Steyn was then seen jumping in joy and celebrating alongside Hyderabad's spin bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan.

The video of him doing the same went viral as well. After the completion of the match, Steyn revealed that the Sri Lankan legend predicted the mode of dismissal. He revealed that Muralitharan felt that the perfect ball at that time would be a yorker. As things turned out, Malik did bowl a yorker to dismiss Iyer.

“I’m not going to lie to you. Sometimes, the players’ genius comes out. Murali (Muttiah Muralitharan) actually said that he thinks the perfect ball to bowl right now is a yorker. Tom (Moody) and I turned around and said, ‘no, if he bowls a yorker now, he is going to be hit for a four over his head’. He runs in, bowls a yorker, and knocks the stumps out of the ground! So, honestly, what do I know?” said Dale Steyn.

It is to be noted that Hyderabad went on to beat Kolkata by seven wickets. After the match, even Hyderabad's coach Tom Moody drew light on Steyn's passionate celebration. He revealed that Malik has been embraced by the franchise.

"There is a lot of planning that goes on with any sort of match-up against any opponent. I think the emotion that was shown in the dug-out was about the joy for a young fast bowler getting such an important wicket for us. Umran has been embraced by the franchise.

He has been embraced by the team. There is no question about that. Everyone enjoys his bowling. He bowled very well (Against Kolkata). He stuck to his plans and we were quite meticulous with our planning to help him understand his role," said Tom Moody, as quoted by India Today.
