'CSK jeet gai wahi bahut hai' - Fans react as CSK defeat DC by 27 runs at Chepauk in IPL 2023

On 10 May 2023, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) locked horns with Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing IPL. The match took place at Chepauk, Chennai. Before this clash, CSK were in the second position with 13 points in 11 games. While DC were in the last position with eight points in 10 games.

CSK came off to this clash after defeating Mumbai Indians (MI). While DC defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their last game. So, both teams were looking to continue their winning momentum. Speaking of the match, MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat first. For them, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway came out as openers.

DC fell short by 27 runs against CSK

But, Conway failed to score big as she got out on 10 runs off 13 balls, including one four. Then, Gaikwad played some shots but got out on 24 runs off 18 balls, including four fours. Ajinkya Rahane played some shots also. But, he got out on 21 runs off 20 balls, including two fours. Shivam Dube played a counter-attacking inning as he scored quickfire 25 runs off just 12 balls, including three sixes. The veteran, Ambati Rayudu scored 23 runs off 17 balls, including one four and one six each. Ravindra Jadeja scored 21 runs off 16 balls, including one four and one six. CSK skipper MS Dhoni played a solid cameo of 20 runs off nine balls, including one four and two sixes. Thus, they scored 167 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs.

For DC, Axar Patel took two wickets and Mitchell Marsh grabbed three wickets. While Lalit Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, and Khaleel Ahmed took one wicket each. But, the DC batters had a disastrous start to their innings. David Warner scored a two-ball duck. Along with him, Mitchell Marsh scored five runs while Phil Salt scored just 17 runs. Then, Manish Pandey scored 27 runs but it came off 29 balls. Thus, they were struggling at 84 runs for four wickets after 13 overs. Then, Axar Patel scored 21 runs off 12 balls but they fell short by 27 runs. For CSK, Matheesha Pathirana took three wickets.
