On 10 May 2023, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) hosted Delhi Capitals (DC) at Chepauk, Chennai in the ongoing IPL. CSK were looking for another win in front of the home crowd as DC have struggled heavily throughout the season. However, it was another opportunity for CSK fans to see MS Dhoni and his men playing at Chepauk.

However, now a video has gone viral where MS Dhoni was seen scaring Deepak Chahar with a slap. Seeing that, fans went crazy and shared their views on social media. Meanwhile, the incident seemed to take place before the kick-off of the clash at Chepauk. Speaking of the match, Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat first.

After winning the toss, Dhoni said: “We will bat first. We have played a few games on this wicket. There are chances of this wicket slowing down. We can't complain about this track. We try to keep it simple. We try to keep reiterating the same thing. Try to accomplish your plan. Try to execute your plans.” For CSK, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway came out to bat. But, Conway scored only 10 runs off 13 balls, including one four. Axar Patel took his wicket on the first delivery of his spell. 

Then, Gaikwad scored 24 runs off 18 balls and Ajinkya Rahane scored 21 runs off 20 balls. Shivam Dube played a counter-attacking knock as he scored 25 runs off 12 balls, including three sixes. Then, Ambati Rayudu scored 23 runs off 17 balls and Ravindra Jadeja also scored 21 runs off 16 balls. In the end, MS Dhoni came up with another impactful cameo as he smashed 20 runs off just nine balls, including one four and two sixes. Thus, they scored 167 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. For DC, Mitchell Marsh took three and Axar Patel grabbed two wickets. Khaleel Ahmed, Lalit Yadav, and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each.
