Royal Challengers Bangalore may have defeated the highly regarded Rajasthan Royals in a critical match to earn their second straight victory. Still, the entire team was assessed fines following the game. Virat Kohli, who was chosen as the team's match captain, is among them. According to a statement from the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kohli received a fine of 24 lahks for the RCB's slow over-rate during the RR innings, while the rest of the squad received smaller fines.
"Royal Challengers Bangalore, who had named Virat Kohli as their Captain for their game against Rajasthan Royals, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Rajasthan Royals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 23, 2023," said the league in a statement.
This is RCB's second over-rate offence in IPL 2023
"As it was his team's second offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Kohli has been fined Rs. 24 lahks, and each member of the Playing XI, including the impact substitute, is fined Rs. 6 lahks or 25 per cent of the match fee, whichever is lesser," it further mentioned.
For the final over of the RR inning, because they were behind the over-rate, RCB was limited to using only four fielders outside the 30-yard circle. To win off the final two overs, RR needed 33. RCB had to defend 20 runs in the last over after Mohammed Siraj gave up 13 runs, primarily because of a six that Dhruv Jurel struck off the second-to-last ball of the over. Harshal Patel bowled it, and RR only managed to get 12 runs off of it, giving RCB a seven-run victory.
Faf du Plessis, the team's usual leader, was forced to leave the field after he finished his batting due to an injury. Hence Kohli has been serving as captain for the last two games. Due to a grade-one intercostal strain, Du Plessis has been unable to play on the field. On April 10, at home against the Lucknow Super Giants, RCB committed its first over-rate offence. Du Plessis, captain at the time, received a 12-lakh fine because it was their first offence.

It must be much less than the weekly miscellaneous expenses of Virat Kohli

As it is Virat wouldn't be paying it but RCB management would do
Never understood why the rules are as if it hits the individual than the franchise, even though I understand it's the captain's…
