Sanju Samson is finally getting his deserved share with a call-up to the ODI squad for the upcoming West Indies tour. While players have started departing for the West Indies, Sanju Samson who is not playing a part in the first two Tests was seen enjoying a football session with his family. The star batter from Kerala took to Instagram and posted a photo where he could be seen with his father and brother, sweaty after a session of intense football.

Sanju Samson wore a jersey that said Trivandrum on the front while his father wore a Real Madrid kit. At the same time, his brother wore a yellow jersey from a local side. The trio posed with two footballs in front of them indicating that they had just enjoyed some quality time playing the game. Sanju Samson will soon be on his way to the West Indies to take part in the three ODIs that are a part of the multi-format tour that includes two Tests and five T20Is also. Last Samson was seen in national colours, he played in an ODI during the tour of New Zealand in 2022.

‘Sanju Samson’s batting lacks regularity’ – Saba Karim

Talking of Sanju Samson and his selection woes, former India wicket-keeper and former India selector Saba Karim opened up to share his insights. He said on News 24, "Since you don't have players currently, I want Sanju Samson to be in the XI. He should play and perform regularly so that he challenges the players currently on the team. Samson, unfortunately, has not been able to do that. If you see in the IPL as well, he performed sporadically. I want to see the same regularity in Sanju Samson's batting that Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma have shown this year. This is still missing.”

"I have a lot of expectations from Samson because he has the skill but unfortunately the consistency that should be there is missing at times and because of that only I feel he has not secured his place in the Indian team," he added.
