July 13th is a historical day for Indian cricket as it was the 20th anniversary of India's win over England in the Natwest series final. For the unversed, the Men In Blue beat Nasser Hussain's men by two wickets at Lord's. The Sourav Ganguly-led side wasn't looking like winning the game as they had lost five wickets for 146 runs, chasing 326.

However, the likes of Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif became unlikely heroes for the team. They stitched a partnership of 121 runs and kept the team in the game. Singh got out to Paul Collingwood while Kaif stayed right till the end. In the last over, Zaheer Khan hit the winning runs, albeit an overthrow. After the game, Ganguly took off his shirt and celebrated.

Meanwhile, 20 years after making history, the current Indian Cricket Board president has been felicitated by the British Parliament. Reacting to that, the former India skipper said it is nice to be felicitated. He revealed that he was contacted six months regarding the same.

"I was felicitated by the British Parliament as a Bengali so it was nice. It was in the Parliament. They contacted me six months ago. They do this award every year and I got it," said BCCI President Sourav Ganguly was quoted as saying by NDTV.

"Oh! yeah I saw that on Instagram. It has been a long time isn't it? 20 years ago. Yeah great moments in sport beating England in England is nothing better than that. The current team is doing it. They won the T20 series. They are 1 up in the one-day series," told Sourav Ganguly.

The second ODI between England and India will be played on July 14 at The Lords.
