Virat Kohli is currently busy playing the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Nagpur. However, the former India skipper has failed to score big runs in the longest format of the game. Recently, by the end of 2022, Virat Kohli managed to end his run drought in both the ODI and T20I formats.
So, fans were eager to see him in action in the red ball format. Virat has managed to start 2023 with some great form in the white-ball format. In the home ODI series against Sri Lanka, he scored centuries. However, he failed to perform well in the ODI series against the Kiwis. However, before this Test series, Virat was not a part of the home T20I series against New Zealand.

During that break, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were seen on a spiritual trip ahead of the Aussie challenge. The couple visited the Swami Dayanand Ji Maharaj’s samadhi at Swami Dayanand Ashram in Rishikesh. However, it is not the first time when this couple has visited a spiritual place. But, Virat failed to perform well in the first innings of the Nagpur Test. He scored only 12 runs off 26 balls, including two fours. Debutant Todd Murphy took his wicket and claimed that it was an absolute pleasure for him. Even, while India were fielding, the former India skipper had some forgettable moments. He missed several catches at the slips before finally grabbing one.
Now, after India managed a huge lead of 223 runs, David Warner, and Usman Khawaja came out to open the innings for Australia. But, during the sixth over that innings, Ashwin came up to bowl while Warner was batting. On the fourth delivery of that over, the southpaw batter went for a defensive shot. But, he managed an edge that was at a comfortable height for Kohli at the slips. But, Virat Kohli made a mess of it as he dropped and fans were not happy with that. After that, they came up and slammed the former India skipper on social media platforms.
