Meanwhile, the much-awaited tournament, the ODI World Cup 2023 will take place in October and India will host the major tournament. However, there are some disputes between the Indian Cricket Board and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as India refused to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup after PCB decided not to go to India for the World Cup. However, they later agreed to come India as it will affect them only.

Surprisingly, they put up another condition for the Indian Cricket Board as they refused to play at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad due to security reasons. Meanwhile, now it is being reported by News24 Sports that the Men in Green are ready to play at the largest cricket stadium in the world.

If you’d said Chennai or Kolkata, it might have made sense: Najam Sethi

PCB chairman Najam Sethi earlier reacted to the news of the India vs Pakistan game in Ahmedabad and said that this is one of the reasons they don't come to India as according to him there are some security reasons due to which they can't play there.

“When I heard that the Pakistan match was to be in Ahmedabad, I smiled and said to myself – ‘this is one way to make sure we don’t come to India’. I mean if you’d said Chennai or Kolkata, it might have made sense,” Sethi was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

“I don’t want to go into the politics of it but certainly there seems to be a political angle to this because if there’s one city where we might have security issues, it’s Ahmedabad. And therefore, I think the less said about that, the better. It gave the impression that this was a red herring that was thrown our way to tell us, ‘Hey, we are going to play you in Ahmedabad and you watch out. You know who rules Ahmedabad.’”
