All fans are eagerly waiting for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting on 9  February 2023 in Nagpur. India will host Australia in a four-match Test series at home. The Men in Blue will look to avoid a series loss to strengthen their chance to get a place in the final of the ongoing World Test Championship. Otherwise, they need to keep track of other Test series around the globe.

On the other hand, the Aussies have failed to win a Test series in India since 2004/05. So, both teams will look for glory this time around. Australia are currently preparing for the series at the KSCA Stadium on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The stadium is in Alur, around 25 km from the city center of Bengaluru. Top batters like Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne have started preparations to face the quality Indian bowling attack.

Ravichandran Ashwin has dismissed Steve Smith six times so far in Test matches

Meanwhile, Australia have denied any tour or practice games ahead of the series this time around. Regarding that, while speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Smith said: "The last time we went I'm pretty sure we got served up a green top (to practice on) and it was sort of irrelevant. We're better off having our own nets and getting spinners in and bowling as much as they can. We'll wait and see when we hit the ground. I think we've made the right decision to not play a tour match." Hence, the KSCA curators prepared the pitch in such a way that it would turn square as it wears down in this ongoing camp in Alur.

But, on 3 February 2023, a video went viral where a young Indian spinner was bowling at the nets to the Australian batters. His bowling was exactly like Ravichandran Ashwin and he was flown in from Vadodara. His name is Mahesh Pithiya. Pithiya made his Ranji Trophy debut in 2022 for Baroda. He was seen bowling to star Australian batter Steve Smith and now reports have come out, that he bowled and stumped twice Smith. After such reports, fans started to troll the former Australian skipper on social media platforms.
