Day four of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) final is set to go underway on 10 June 2023. After three days of play, Australia are in teh driving seat with 296 runs lead with six wickets in hand. However, on day three, reports came out that rain is predicted on both the fourth and fifth days.

Therefore, the play could get interrupted and the game can get extended to the reserve day, 12 June. But, now ahead of the fourth day of play, news came out that no rain is going to happen on day four. However, Indian fans were hoping for some rain as that could increase the chances of having a draw in this clash. But, now, after seeing such a prediction, they shared their views on social media.

Speaking of the match, Australia batted first and got bundled out for 469 runs in their first innings. Both Travis Head and Steve Smith were the centurions while Mohammed Siraj was the highest wicket-taker for the Men in Blue with four wickets. In reply, India’s batters were all over the place until some fightback was shown by Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur. Both put up a gritty partnership of 109 runs for the seventh wicket and India finally got bundled out for 296 runs in their first innings.

Thu, the Aussies got a lead of 173 runs and by the end of day three, they scored 123 runs for four wickets. However, both Smith and Head departed early this time around, thanks to Ravindra Jadeja. However, it seems like a huge target is on the cards for Rohit Sharma and his men in the fourth innings. Regarding that, while speaking at the press conference after Day 3, Shardul said: “Well, cricket is a funny game. You can never say what is the right total and in this one-off game, especially major finals, you never know, I mean, who can handle the pressure better out there, one good partnership when you can even chase down 450 or maybe more than that.”
