Mayank Agarwal is currently preparing hard for the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League in 2023. He will play for the Hyderabad franchise in the upcoming season. The franchise bought him for an amount of INR 8.25 Lakhs. Last year, he was in the Punjab franchise. Agarwal was the skipper also.

But, he failed to lead them even in the playoffs as Punjab finished in the sixth position with 14 points from 14 games. So, teh franchise decided to part ways with him. However, Hyderabad showed faith in him and bought him for the next season. Meanwhile, on 17 March 2023, the star Indian batter shared an image of an abdominal guard on Twitter with the caption ‘Small role, huge impact’.

Seeing that tweet, fans went berserk and shared some funny tweets, and memes on the social media platform. Generally, an abdominal guard is one of the most important protectors for any batter. It is also called Box or L Guard for batsmen and wicket-keepers. Recently, Mayank Agarwal was seen unveiling the new jersey of the Hyderabad franchise for the Indian T20 League 2023. Now, reports have come out that he can become the vice-captain for the side. The franchise appointed Aiden Markram as their skipper. After getting picked by the Hyderabad franchise, Agarwal opened up in Jio Cinema.

While speaking there, he said: “I was partially nervous and excited, but I am glad to be part of Hyderabad and really looking forward to working with Muralitharan and Lara, players with a lot of international experience and success.” Even, the former Punjab coach, Anil Kumble said: “Mayank has been the captain for Punjab and he was let go. I am really happy that he went to a team like Hyderabad. I think a new environment will certainly help Mayank and he is wonderful to have around the team. I don’t know how much Murali will be able to help Mayank with his batting, but Brian Lara is there”.
