On 17 March 2023, Peshawar Zalmi locked horns with Lahore Qalandars in eliminator 2 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League. It was a great opportunity for Zalmi skipper Babar to guide his team to the final. But, Lahore Qalandars won the match by four wickets and got qualified for the final against Multan Sultans.

However, Jimmy Neesham failed to get a place in the playing XI of the match. But, he came into the headlines as an image of him sleeping during the match has gone viral. The incident took place during the 11th over of Zalmi’s innings when Mohammad Haris and Babar Azam were batting. Fans went crazy after seeing that image and shared their views on the social media platform.

Speaking of the match, Babar won the toss and elected to bat first. While batting first, Peshawar Zalmi scored 171 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Skipper Babar scored 42 runs off 36 balls, including seven fours. But, it was Mohammad Haris who blew away every bowler. He smashed 85 runs off 54 balls, including 11 fours and two sixes. For Lahore Qalandars, both Zaman Khan and Rashid Khan took two wickets each while Shaheen Shah Afridi managed one.

In reply, the Qalandas chased down the target in 18.5 overs and won the match by a four-wicket margin. Opener Mirza Baig was the highest scorer with 54 runs off 42 balls. Salman Irshad, Wahab Riaz, and Aamer Jamal took one wicket each while Azmatullah Omarzai grabbed two wickets. With this win, the Zalmi got knocked out and Lahore Qalandars got into the final. Mirza Baig won the player of the match award for his 54*-run knock. Meanwhile, Jimmy Neesham played only seven innings and scored just 87 runs in PSL 8. The star all-rounder failed to get a place in the eliminator two.
