Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has finally cleared his stance on the viral tweet of Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif on India’s defeat against England in the second semi-final at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. Earlier, PML-N leader and current Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif happened to take a dig at the Indian team following their defeat against England by a massive margin of 10 wickets.

“So, this Sunday, it’s: 152/0 vs 170/0,” reads the tweet posted by PM Sharif on his official Twitter handle. This tweet went viral within the minutes over social media.

The journalists asked the skipper Babar Azam about the same tweet to which the latter replied:

“There is no pressure as such. But sorry to say, I didn't see this tweet, so I have no knowledge of it. But yes, we just try to give our best against the opposition.”

Talking about Shebaz’s tweet, he was recalling Pakistan’s outing against India in Dubai during last year’s 20-20 World Cup. The men in green thrashed the then Virat Kohli-led team India by a margin of 10 wickets. Subsequently, team India and skipper Kohli was left on the receiving end of harsh criticism from the cricket fans and some of the former Indian cricketers as well.

A sort of similar result arrived for India in the second semi-final of the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup. Batting first, the Indians posted a total of 168 runs for the loss of six wickets which England chased down easily in 16 overs, thanks to the batting heroics from the opening pair of skipper Jos Buttler and Alex Hales.

Now, Pakistan will face England in the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Notably, it is for the first time that both teams are facing a World Cup final after 30 since 1992 and that too at the same ground of MCG in Melbourne. That time, former Prime minister and legendary all-rounder Imran Khan guided the men in green to win their first-ever ODI World Cup in history.
