In what could be termed as the shortest match of the Asia Cup 2022, Pakistan blew away Hong Kong in the last match of the group stage. After putting 193/2 on the board, the Men in Green defeated the minnows by a massive 155 runs, moving into the Super 4 as a result of it. Both of these teams lost to India in their first match, but it was Pakistan, who bounced back stronger and have now set up another tie with Men in Blue in the Super Four.

Coming onto bat first, Pakistan openers Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam would have thought of creating a huge total on the board. Pakistan captain, Babar Azam, however, contrary to his T20I ranking, got out at just nine runs. The other opener Rizwan, however, continued his great touch from the match against India and played a solid inning of 78 off of 57.

Number three batter Fakhar Zaman also came good with the bat as he produced a classy half-century (53) in 41 deliveries. In the end, Khushdil Shah ended Pakistan's batting innings with a flurry, hitting five massive sixes to lead Pakistan close to 200.

Hong Kong would have already looked dejected looking at the score but no one predicted the collapse like it did. The minnows could only play for 10.4 overs as the whole team went into the dugout at just 38 runs. None of the Hong Kong batters could get into the double digits with eight runs by captain NIzakat Khan being the top score for the team.

Shadab Khan was sensational with the bat as he took four wickets and broke Hong Kong's back with Mohammad Rizwan, who took three of his own. With this win, Pakistan become the fourth team to qualify for the Super Four and will play against India on one more occasion.
