Senior Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be the key elements for India in the Asia Cup 2022. Both of these guys can also play a crucial role for India in the first match of the campaign against Pakistan. Notably, Bhuvneshwar and Hardik are also approaching a milestone in the T20 internationals.

If they scalp two more wickets, then they will become the leading wicket-takers for the men in blue in the T20 internationals against Asian teams. Both pacers have currently 17 scalps to their name. Currently, they are only behind the former veteran pacer Ashish Nehra, who is the leading wicket-taker for India against Asian teams in T20Is.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will also be active on the field after a rest from the recently-concluded three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. The octet of Indian batting will surely revolve around him as he will be opening the batting for the team in the first and very crucial clash against Pakistan.

Apart from that, Rohit Sharma is also nearing a milestone in the Asia Cup. If he scores a 50+ score against Pakistan, then he will become the only batter with the most half-century scores against any opponent in the Asia Cup. Right now, he is equalling the table with former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar, former Sri Lankan southpaws Kumar Sangakkara and Sanath Jayasuriya. All these former legends have five 50+ scores against any opponent in the Asia Cup. Whereas Rohit has also scored the same number of half-centuries against any opponent in the continental tournament.

Former Indian skipper and senior Indian batter Virat Kohli is set to make a new record despite his lean patch with the bat. Just with an entry on the ground against Pakistan in the first match, Virat will become the only Indian to play 100 international matches in all formats of the game. Notably, it will be the 100th T20I for the 33-year-old. Speaking of overall records, then he will be the second batter in the world to achieve this feat former veteran New Zealand batter Ross Taylor.

The right-hander played 100th ODI for India nine years back in the year 2013 against West Indies. Other than that, he appeared for the 100th time in Test cricket for India during a Test match against Sri Lanka.

He is now coming back from a break from international cricket over the last month. He was not a part of the Indian side during the white-ball clashes against West Indies and Zimbabwe. Kohli also talked about introspection, and his future plans as well in a recent interview.
