The stage is getting ready at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad as Gujarat Titans (GT) will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) on 26 May in the qualifier two of the ongoing IPL. So, fans were expecting an enthralling battle between these sides. GT lost their last match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the qualifier one.
While MI registered a victory against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the eliminator. But, ahead of the clash, some images went viral where it has been observed that heavy rain has been happening in Ahmedabad. For the pre-match show, cricket experts like Matthew Hayden, and Ravi Shastri were seen with umbrellas on the field.

There is no reserved day for qualifier two
Seeing such an image, MI fans were not happy. If the match gets abandoned due to rain, then MI will be knocked out and GT will qualify for the final against CSK. As per the rule of IPL, if qualifier two gets abandoned, then the loser of qualifier one will be qualified for the final. However, umpires will look to conduct a match of a minimum of five overs. Even, if that is not possible, they will look for a match of only super overs. However, if GT manage to qualify for the final, then that will be their second consecutive IPL final in two years.
On the other hand, MI will look to win their sixth IPL title by qualifying for the final. After a dismal IPL season in 2022, it has been a great journey for Rohit Sharma and his men this year. The final is set to take place at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 28 May 2023. According to recent reports, rain has been stopped but due to the wet outfield, the game got delayed. Umpire will inspect the field after some time and then, further decisions will be taken.
