Babar Azam has enjoyed a great 2022 year as an individual for the Men in Green. Currently, he is the number one ranked batter in ODIs. While he is the third-ranked batter in the Tests and the fourth-ranked batter in T20Is. In 2022, Babar Azam was the highest run-scorer in the longest format of the game.

He scored 1184 runs in 17 innings, at an average of 69.64. Babar also managed to hit four centuries and seven half-centuries. In nine ODIs, he scored 679 runs in nine innings, at an average of 84.87. Babar Azam scored three centuries and five fifties in those ODIs. In 26 T20Is, Babar scored 735 runs, at an average of 31.95 including one century and five fifties.

For such performances with the bat for Pakistan, the Governing body of Cricket considered Babar Azam as the winner of many prestigious individual awards. PCB Chairman, Najam Sethi gave those awards to the Pakistan skipper. He won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC’s Men’s Cricketer of the year. Then, he won the Men’s ODI Cricketer of the year award. He was the leading run-scorer in international cricket in 2022. Babar Azam scored 2598 runs in the international arena.

But, as a skipper, Babar had a forgettable year, especially in the home conditions. Before the home Test series against England and New Zealand, the Men in Green had the best chance to get qualified for the final of the World Test Championship final. But, they failed to do so. Babar Azam lost four Tests consecutively at home. Thus, he became the first Pakistan skipper to have such an embarrassing record to his name in the history of Pakistan cricket. Now, on 2 February 2023, Babar shared two images on Twitter to show his all individual awards. He shared the same with a caption: “You are your own magic.”
