‘Abhi bi keera hai thora Lucknow mein’ - Fans react as Ayush Badoni celebrates his fifty against CSK with ‘Flying Kiss’ in IPL 2023

On 3 May 2023, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) locked horns with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing IPL. LSG suffered an 18-run defeat at Ekana Cricket Stadium against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their last game. While CSK also came to this clash after losing their last two games.

So, both teams were looking to get back into winning ways. However, KL Rahul missed the match due to the injury he sustained in the last match. As a result, Ayush Badoni came out to open along with Kyle Mayers in that match. So, Krunal Pandya led the team again and fans were eagerly waiting to see the new opening partner of Kyle Mayers. 

LSG vs CSK clash got called off due to rain

Speaking of the match, MS Dhoni won the toss and asked LSG to bat first. After winning the toss, Dhoni said: "The wicket was under cover for a long time, and it looks a bit tacky. We have to see every condition. When you are playing a day game, things change. Deepak Chahar is playing and he comes in place of Akash Singh." While Pandya said: “I would've liked to bat. I don't know how the wicket will play, despite it being our home ground. KL is a big loss but it creates opportunity for other players. The morale is high. We want to play a good time. Manan Vohra and Karan Sharma come in.”

But, while batting first, LSG batters had a terrible start as they lost five wickets for 44 runs in 9.4 overs. They were fully clueless against the CSK spinners. Then, Badoni came out to bat in the middle order and scored 59* runs off 33 balls before rain interrupted the game. The match got stopped as LSG were at 125 runs for seven wickets in 20 overs. Badoni scored the fifty off just 30 balls and celebrated that with a ‘flying kiss’. That image of celebration went viral and fans reacted to it on social media.
